Summer Assistant Instructor: K-8 Hands-On Electronics & Computer Classes
Job description
Circuit Lab (www.circuit-lab.com) is seeking a creative, hands-on educator as a classroom assistant instructor in our summertime electronics and computer programming classes at class sites including East Greenwich, Cumberland, and Portsmouth RI. We also have several other available teaching positions at other sites in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut (view our other jobs for more information about those).
This will be a great fit if you enjoy working with kids (from about 6 to 14 years old) and have the ability to confidently discuss concepts in the field of electronics, robotics, computer science, or engineering. In Circuit Lab classes, you will have the opportunity to put your skills to work helping students with a variety of hands-on STEM projects that introduce them to new technical, creative, and problem solving skills. For more experienced educators (with 6 months or more of classroom leadership experience), please also see our advertisements for classroom lead instructors.
You will travel to class sites in different towns to run week-long daytime programs (35-40 hours per week, Mon-Fri) throughout the summer for small groups of students. The start date for the position is June 12, 2023, with the option to begin training earlier. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We have a paid training period to help you get familiar with the curriculum and teaching style before leading a class.
To apply, please send a resume and a cover letter outlining your teaching and/or electronics experience, including age groups and class sizes that you have worked with. Let us know what excites you about working with kids and teaching them about technology!
