Unarmed Security Guard (Days)

Pay Rate: $16/per hour

Position Summary:

Advancia Technologies, LLC is seeking a qualified Security Guard who will perform the following:

• Helps to maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations.
• Preserves order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.
• Provides customer service, information, and escort services to a client’s employees and customers.
• Interacts with all individuals encountered in and around the designated areas of surveillance to provide information, problem-solve, prevent unlawful activity, take appropriate action when necessary, and promote positive public relations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide dayshift security duties (12-hour shifts – 7am-7pm)
• Maintain security and safety of the client’s premises
• Serve as a visible deterrent
• Conduct rounds of the property
• Traffic control
• Monitor surveillance cameras
• Assist in-house staff as needed
• Report any illegal activity, unusual findings, or safety concerns
• Patrol premises (both indoor and outdoor) on foot
• Maintain daily activity log

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be physically capable of performing security duties which include doing walking rounds of a hospital campus
• Demonstrated ability to de-escalate potentially volatile situations without the use of force
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities (i.e., ability to process information combined with experience and knowledge to achieve a reasonable solution, and to mediate the conflict)
• Ability to successfully meet and pass all pre-employment screening tools, such as drug testing, and employment reference checks
• Ability to pass criminal background checks: Special Agreement Check (SAC); National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI)
• Ability to read, write, and speak proficient English – to the extent of reading and understanding printed regulations, detailed written orders, and training instructions
• Must be able to take direction and be on time for shift changes
• CLEET Training or Law Enforcement experience preferred

• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings
• Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner and maintain the highest standards of honor and respect for all persons

Working Environment:

• Both indoor and outdoor – including inclement weather

Physical Demands (including but not limited to):

• Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk; to use hands to handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, and kneel.
• The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves anything from 10 to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus.
• Work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods, including periods of inclement weather while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of security functions.
