Overview


The Executive Director of Merchandise Planning & Allocation will drive the development of strategic merchandise/inventory plans and strategies that support the merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives of the Brand. Will serve as a primary leadership role and as a thought partner for the Brand president and the brand COO to validate and prioritize which strategies the Brand pursues and executes.


Responsibilities


  • Develop merchandise plans and strategies to achieve company financial targets
  • Adjust in-season forecasts as necessary and lead the monthly OTB meetings
  • Partner with Merchandising and Marketing leaders to identify and execute opportunities for sales and margin growth
  • Recommend promotional events as needed to drive sales and manage seasonal inventory levels
  • Manage inventory levels in stores, distribution centers, and ecommerce fulfillment centers to optimize turns while maintaining appropriate in-stock levels
  • Assess information and technology needs and support the development and implementation of new tools and applications
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team of over 50 planners and allocators
  • Participate as a member of the brand executive team, partnering with other business unit leaders on all major brand initiatives

Job Skills


  • 15+ years of merchandise planning and multi-store allocation experience in vertical specialty retail. Experience in Omnichannel and E-commerce/Direct business models is a major plus. Experience in “Test and Learn” environments preferred.
  • Demonstration of leadership and talent development skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships to drive business and create/lead teams.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Proven track record in managing a business to achieve financial targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Education


Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
