Surgery Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Here are a few highlights of this position:

• Supervises 8 veterinary technicians
• Supervises 3 sterile processing technicians and the sterile processing department.
• Effectively plans, directs and manages day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility.
• Proficiency in the usage of specialized equipment in both surgical support and patient post-operative care. Providing extensive surgical assistance in preparing patients, scrubbing, shaving, acting as a surgical nurse, and operating specific surgical and laser equipment.
• Maintaining a clean working environment to ensure Infectious Disease standards are followed and infection is not spread. Handling all medical/biological and infectious waste appropriately.
• Evaluating and modifying protocols to ensure excellent patient care and client service. Ensuring adherence to procedures and work standards; recommending changes.
• General oversight of units. Financial responsibilities include the continuing education budget, staff salaries, supplies, and the fee structure for specialties to insure cost capture, industry equivalence, and supply cost.
• Participating in human resources-related responsibilities, including but not limited to; recruitment and selection process; conducting performance management; ensuring human resources policies and related information are shared with employees; resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues; monthly timesheets.
• Functioning as a working technician for the departments, providing unique internal customer service, surgical support, data collection, and patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
Hospital personnel and clients are required to wear a mask in the hospital. Vaccinations are recommended but not required.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Raleigh, NC 27607: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• NC RVT or ability to become an RVT within 6 months of hire (Required)
