Position Summary:
Provides leadership, direction, and administration of the organization’s fiscal services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Uses independent judgment to exercise authority on behalf of the System/Affiliate by keeping the organizations mission, vision, and values at the forefront

- Constantly seeks opportunities to have the Department work more efficiently and effectively
- Manages department and budgets within specified perimeters
- Consistently contributes to sound financial practices
- Develops, monitors, and evaluates the organization’s accounting, financial, and third-party reimbursement systems
- Directs the compilation of data and preparation of financial and operating reports
- Directs and monitors the activities of all assigned functional areas
- Prepares the annual operating and capital expense budgets and monthly financial and operating reports
- Monitors operations to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and accrediting body standards on a continuous basis
- Initiates and ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures necessary to accomplish financial and operational goals and objectives
- Represents the organization in its relationships with the community, major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, and professional organizations
- Consults legal counsel when necessary to determine appropriate methodology and action
- Monitors activities of pertinent government agencies to ensure program integrity
- Performs other related responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Extensive financial management, accounting, and financial planning experience, including 5 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- CPA or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA)
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Business or Hospital Administration
