About the Position:

Kaplan Early Learning Company is searching for an experienced VP of E-Commerce to work on-site at our headquarters in Lewisville, North Carolina. While our online business has grown exponentially in the last decade, we are still transitioning from the catalog age to a cutting-edge, web-based world. We need your technological savvy, excellent management skills and experience executing e-commerce strategies to take us to the next level. Located within Marketing, this team will partner with our catalog, merchandising, and sales enablement teams to develop and deploy web initiatives that drive business results. You'll be responsible for creating the tactical plan that takes us where we need to be, establishing, monitoring and adjusting processes to introduce new products and services-and delivering the ultimate online customer experience.


A DAY IN THE OFFICE LOOKS LIKE THIS:

  • Own the e-commerce P&L, including understanding key performance indicators, ensuring business hits targets, pulling appropriate levers to drive sales and finding cost efficiencies across the business units
  • Align priorities with the business to maximize focus on the highest-returning initiatives based on time, cost, quality and impact
  • Drive site experience and strategy, including defining an end-to-end, best-in-class, omnichannel shopping experience for both our B2B and B2C customers.
  • Drive technology road maps to strategically build sales and conversions
  • Orchestrate all digital marketing functions, including e-mail marketing, mobile marketing, paid social marketing, paid search, SEO, affiliate and display marketing. You will drive the marketing vision across these channels, as well as budget ownership to optimize spend.
  • Lead cross-functional Agile teams (comprised of technical and non-technical members) responsible for supporting and enhancing our e-commerce platform across desktop and mobile
  • Constantly reevaluate the department with managers and the team to assess function, process and system improvements
  • Orchestrate operations, considering order management, payment and fraud web services, EDI receipt, and transactional flow of all orders
  • Manage the relationship and SLAs for all external operational partners

GOT THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE? HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 7+ years of experience running medium- to large-scale e-commerce business for a consumer/retail organization, including P&L ownership
  • 15+ years of consumer-based experience
  • 10+ years of managing teams of both technical and non-technical members
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • Proven business strategy, planning, analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to set vision and strategy across a variety of functions while inspiring and motivating multiple teams
  • Ability to manage multiple Agile teams - balancing projects, people and initiatives in parallel
  • High energy and flexibility in a constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to balance client experience, business needs and resources to ensure correct prioritization of Agile, cross-functional work
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners at all levels
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of consumer mind-set/orientation
