WAREHOUSE TEAM LEAD (NON-EXEMPT)

The position is located in our Memphis, TN distribution center and will report to the department supervisor.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes day-to-day flow of work as directed by the supervisor
  • Lead a team of up to 40 Full Time and Temporary hourly associates
  • Responsible for training new team members regarding work procedures, methods, and practices
  • Promotes and ensures a safe and productive work environment for all employees
  • Utilizes strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a positive team environment
  • Promotes an environment of continuous improvement that ensures a high level of quality is maintained in all daily operations resulting in superior service levels to all customers
  • Interfaces with supervisors and employees in other departments to guarantee an uninterrupted workflow
  • Performs the role of supervisor as needed when the supervisor is not present
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime hours, including weekends as required
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of six (6) months of team lead experience and/or related warehouse experience


SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Possesses basic math skills
  • Preferred certificate of proficiency or license in the operation and maintenance of standard industrial forklift equipment


Level of Responsibility:

Interacts regularly and follows up with internal parties based on direction of management; presents information for decision making to managers; and independently manages their own daily tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position performs the role of supervisor as needed when the supervisor is not present.
