Job Summary:

The Warehouse Trainer position serves as the knowledge center of Warehouse operation, providing comprehensive initial training, specific process instruction and coordinating hiring events. A typical day as a Warehouse Trainer consists of communicating training needs with managers, training 1 on 1 with warehouse employees, scheduling job advancement training sessions, and working with groups of new hires to ensure they understand all processes. Trainers are also responsible for documenting the results of job advancement training, in order to facilitate promotions and transfers. Trainers work closely with both Warehouse employees, and Warehouse management, due to their status as subject matter experts.


This role may report to the Knox or Ridge warehouse as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities:
Include but not limited to:
  • Conduct training sessions to Warehouse staff on warehouse functions and operations
  • Conduct training sessions to Returns Dept staff on RMA functions and operations
  • Interview and hire applicants for Warehouse
  • Maintain training records and staff evaluations
  • Update and maintain existing training ISO documentation for use in SHI’s training platform
  • Design, develop courses & programs using multiple training vehicles (video, documentation, and practical exercises)
  • Provide feedback, support, training & guidance to trainees
  • Share feedback & observations regarding the new hire staff performance with management
  • Lead open house hiring events, presenting the warehouse and giving descriptions of available positions
  • Schedule advancement training in consultation with employees and managers
  • Assist warehouse staff with picking, putaways, receiving and or shipping
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years Warehouse experience
  • Minimum 1 year work experience as a trainer or team leader
  • Understanding of receiving, pick ticket printing, picking, shipping, config staging.
  • Forklift Certification – will be trained and certified on site within the first 30 days.

Unique Requirements:
  • Overtime and weekend work are available, and may be required throughout the year
  • Position requires the ability to move or lift up to 50lbs
Additional Information:
  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
