Bay Area Community Resources at A.P. Giannini Middle School in San Francisco is seeking committed and passionate Program Leaders to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our Beacon After School Programs at AP Giannini Middle School. Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Program Leaders will provide homework assistance and will lead a Project-Based Learning Club with groups of up to 20 students. In addition to providing a structured environment for "homework time," qualified candidates should be comfortable planning and leading one-hour creative lessons for a Club that runs in 12 week cycles, culminating in a final project.
Benefits:
- Pay rate: $20-22/hr (based on experience and location)
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Schedule: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 3:00pm - 6:40pm; Wed (early release + weekly staff meeting) 1:20pm - 5:40pm

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate Degree OR 48 or more college units OR pass the Instructional Aide exam
- Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance
- Able to work every day during after-school hours and commit to a full academic school year required for the position
- Ability to travel to required meetings and must have a clean driving record and insurance if using a personal vehicle
Preferred:
- General knowledge base of core elementary and middle school subjects
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
- Computer literacy
- Cantonese or Mandarin speaker
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to receive training)
Responsibilities:
- Create, plan, and facilitate the basics of music production in a simplified and achievable sequence.
- Write lesson plans, and use learning targets and instructional strategies.
- Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and life; communicate to parents about student progress and behavior
- Provide homework and academic support for program participants
- Facilitate and plan academic skill-building activities based on students' skill level and state educational standards
- Actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times; ensure that all school space and equipment are left clean and orderly
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings and ongoing training
