Summary: Tetra Tech's Salt Lake City office is a collaborative, talented, and enthusiastic team. We are seeking motivated Seasonal Archaeological Technicians to join our high-performing team to assist in our continued provision of top-of-the-line cultural resource services through the 2023 field season and potentially beyond. Tetra Tech provides diverse opportunities for working on interesting projects in multiple market segments across the Intermountain West.


Your Role: The selected candidates will act as archaeological technicians working under the group Principal Investigator and/or assigned project Crew Chiefs. Daily tasks will include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to,

  • Project health and safety compliance.
  • Assisting with completing file searches.
  • Conducting pedestrian inventory.
  • Assisting in site recording.
  • Helping with evaluative testing.
  • Assisting with technical reporting.

Typical field work will include, but not limited to,

  • Pedestrian inventory, monitoring, evaluative testing, visual resource assessment, and site mitigation.
  • The work will include all major cultural resource types common across the Intermountain West, Plateau, and Great Basin.

Frequent project travel will be required that will range in duration from eight-days on/six-days off field sessions to shorter time periods and day trips depending on project location and scale. For overnight travel, candidates will receive per diem based on current GSA rates for the area and paid single occupancy hotel.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have attended an archaeological field school with a focus on North American archaeology.
  • Prior cultural resource management experience being a plus.
  • Candidates must be able to lift 35-lbs and walk over open terrain outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
