Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 annual plus excellent benefits
ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
PACE is a community local non-profit founded in 1976 to provide job training and placement services for the Asian Pacific Islander communities in Los Angeles. PACE has since expanded into a variety of service areas, all tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the multi-ethnic communities in Los Angeles County. Now, in addition to job training and employment services, significant PACE programs encompass: Business Development; Early Childhood Education (Head Start); financial education and asset building; housing and rehabilitation services; weatherization and energy-conservation programs; and affordable housing development. PACE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER (PACE BDC)
PACE BDC promotes the growth and economic expansion of diverse Los Angeles communities through the infusion of capital and the provision of business consultation services and financial literacy training. We target low and moderate income residents, entrepreneurs and business owners in Los Angeles with diverse loan products as well as technical assistance focused on financial education and credit building. The PACE Business Development Center (BDC) provides no-cost advising services and low-cost educational programs to entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their small business. PACE BDC business advisors work with entrepreneurs in one-to-one sessions in the areas of management, marketing, sales, finance, accounting, and other disciplines required for small business growth, expansion, and innovation.

POSITION FUNCTION
Under the supervision, direction of and collaboration with Loan Manager, the individual will assist in loan underwriting, loan guarantee, loan and portfolio servicing activities to for meeting and exceeding all program performance outcomes & requirements. Additionally, the individual may supervise and collaborate with others to meet performance outcomes, requirements, and compliance. When directed, position will also act as the representative for the organization in cultivating and maintaining collaborative working relationship with all partners, key stakeholders and other community partners. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Assist and collaborate with loan and business counselors and managers in underwriting and packaging loan application and SBA Community Advantage application package
- Assist and collaborate with loan and business counselors and managers during loan closing to ensure collateral perfection, SBA CA authorization instructions are followed and documentations complete before loan disbursement.
- Plan and collaborate with loan and business counselors and managers to collect borrowers financial statements and other documentation to keep file up to date and prepare loan risk classification report
- Interface with SBA CA staff and borrowers in loan liquidation and guarantee purchase
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Underwriting & Loan packaging Assistance
- Assist in lending underwriting and credit memos to loan committee
- Quality verify to ensure accuracy and flows of financial spread and 5Cs components
- Assist in preparation Loan Guarantee application and credit memo to SBA to improve approval and minimize conditions requirement
- CA Loan Disbursement & Compliance
- Review SBA CA authorization
- Assist in collection of all documents per authorization instruction
- Ensure completion of CA instruction checklist and documentation before release the Loan Check
- UCC search and UCC file all collaterals as pledge
- Create and maintain collateral reports with UCC date expiring, create scheduled site visit, renew filing of UCC before expired
- Produce Loan Risk Classification Report
- Prepare schedule and collaborate with loan counselor/manager to collect post-loan all required financial reports and other documents to update loan files
- Create and maintain financial model to risk classify each loan
- Prepare an annual loan risk classification report
- Liquidate Loan & SBA loan guarantee purchase
- Conduct site visit and secure collateralized assets
- Follow SBA guideline and obtain proper written consent from SBA on liquidation
- Interface with SBA Commercial Loan Servicing Center and request for the purchase of Loan Guarantee
- Update Loan Servicing Policies and Procedures
- Review, update loan servicing, liquidation, guarantee purchasing policies and procedures according to the SBA Community Advantage Participant Guide and/or relevant SOP
- Periodically train lending staff of the policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Education and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, credit and underwriting, finance
- At least two years working experience in small business lending, accounting, marketing, loan servicing or collection with small business.
- Experience in underwriting loans, loan packaging, loan servicing preferred, particularly working capital loan underwriting.
- Operating a family business or your own business is highly desirable
Skills, Abilities & Bi-lingual
- Strong attention to details and follow through instruction and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office using Words, Excel, and Internet Explorer
- Proficient in customer relation management (CRM) software preferred
- Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability in public presentation for workshops
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of local businesses and resources
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting
- Effective problem-solving and mediation skills
- Bi-lingual skills highly desired
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination including drug and alcohol screening.
