We are looking to have an experienced chef join our evolving team and help push our already successful kitchen to a new level. Our restaurant is already known as a for its exceptional wood fire cooking techniques and elevated cuisine that will leave a lasting impression on our guests.
As an Executive Sous Chef, you will work alongside our Executive Chef to help elevate an established and well-loved restaurant to new heights. You will possess a passion for exceptional food, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Executive Chef in managing culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, recipe development, inventory management, and purchasing
- Oversee and manage kitchen staff in a cooperative team environment
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times
- Train, teach and coach team members on culinary techniques and best practices
- Maintain impeccable sanitation and safety standards
- Aid in the development of creative and seasonal menu items
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale casual restaurant environment
- A degree in culinary arts is highly preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- A comprehensive understanding of food costs and inventory management
- Experience cooking over wood fire is strongly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- The availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Current ServSafe certification required
- English and Spanish speaking a plus
The Executive Sous Chef pay rate is between $65-$70K per year along with health benefits and paid vacation time. Our restaurant operates five days a week allowing the team to have uniform days off.
