The Northeast Health District is seeking an IT Support Specialist. Under supervision, provides management information system user support on a continuing basis either by phone or site visit. Troubleshoots end-user problems. Analyzes and designs software modifications to meet users’ needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND Six months of education or experience in information security, privacy, system/network administration and support, or application development AND training and experience necessary to independently provide technical support to computer users in an assigned office/geographic area.

  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to work professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Familiarity installing and troubleshooting a variety of software such as Office 365.
  • Basic understanding of networking and the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
  • Ability to communicate with the business on their needs and the status of IT projects.
  • Experience with troubleshooting printers, fax machines, postage meters, and other related peripheral network devices.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills and analytical/critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work within established operational policies and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the agency.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • BS in Computer/Information Systems and/or two years of experience as a systems administrator in a small to medium enterprise.
  • Active Directory knowledge including user management.
  • Experience with virtualization, preferably VMWare.
  • Linux knowledge and administration of Linux based servers.
  • Ability to automate operational tasks and routines via scripting.
  • Experience in the health care industry preferred.

Annual salary $35,000 – $45,000 DOQ. Plus, generous benefits including 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.

This position is in Athens, GA, and does not offer relocation assistance. Must be within a reasonable commuting distance. If relocating to Athens, GA, please specify on the application.
