Role and Responsibilities

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. They will oversee keeping the workplace clean, organized and disinfected.

• Clean the interior of the office and related areas, Dry Warehouse, Breakroom, and bathrooms including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
• Maintain cleaning inventory
• Maintain outdoor grounds of any garbage
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors in the dry warehouse, bathrooms, breakroom, office, and related areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms
• Washing and clean windows and mirrors
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
• Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
• Dust furniture and fixtures
• Wear proper PPE while performing specific task
• Respond quickly to cleaning emergencies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Skills

• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
• Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Good organization skills
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to read cleaning labels and follow safe handling procedures
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment, drug and background checks

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens.
• Position requires frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
• Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings.
