Job description

Under the direction of the Transportation & Facilities Manager, and the assigned Area Manager, the Lead Bus Driver must follow all applicable job responsibilities listed as a Bus Driver. Additionally, the Lead Bus Driver will oversee and ensure that bus drivers and bus aides are prepared to ensure the safety of the children at all times. This person has the responsibilities listed under transportation duties, facilities duties, and other duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Time spent driving on public roads in changing weather conditions.
• Requires driving in all weather conditions including rain, snow, ice, wind, heat, etc.
• Must be able to assist in changing tires and make other minor repairs as necessary.
• May be required to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Noise level in work environment may be moderate to loud.
• Some evenings and weekend work may occasionally be required for events such as home visits, parent-teacher conferences, Parent Committee meetings, social and community events.
• Must be able to exit rear emergency door and any other emergency exits of bus without assistance and to assist others in exiting the bus.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, current in-state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus and Passenger endorsement and/or other criteria specifically required by the state. CPR and First Aid Certification required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $2,000. The selected candidate will receive $1,000 after 60 days of employment and $1,000 when the season finishes or upon 6 months of employment, whichever occurs first.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.04 - $20.99 per hour
