SALARY RANGE*: $67,984 - $83,091 per year

POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of the Teaching and Learning Center team, this position is responsible for designing, implementing, facilitating, and communicating activities relating to the orientation, assessment, development, and retention of faculty. Providing expertise in inclusive learner-centered curricular design including assuring quality standards are upheld is important to the function of this role. This person facilitates the ongoing development of faculty starting at on-boarding, continuing through their tenure at the college. A focus is placed on collaboratively building the college’s DEI teaching and learning framework, moving from theory to practice. Being a key resource and coach to faculty regarding development and best-practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment is vital to this role.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- The Learning Experience – DEI Consultant will support faculty within the Title III: Connect for Student Success grant. A main focus of the role is to build and utilize a DEI teaching and learning framework to ensure students are learning while closing equity gaps in student learning and success. Collaborate within the Teaching and Learning Center to provide faculty support for all aspects of the student learning experience including curriculum development, instruction, and assessment to improve the quality of instruction at the College.
- Design and implement research-based faculty development to improve the teaching skill of all faculty.
- Consult with faculty and learning leadership regarding researched-based practices for course design, instructional technology, and instructional delivery. Recommend changes to course materials, resources, delivery methods, and sequenced learning experiences to support student learning.
- Collaborate and build relationships with faculty and other college individuals to ensure delivery of consistent, quality learning opportunities across all delivery modes are aligned to college curriculum policies.
- Collaborate with faculty to create student focused professional development opportunities, seek out faculty voice and co-facilitate development opportunities.
- Collaboratively facilitate/instruct faculty development opportunities.
- Evaluate course content for best practice in pedagogy, accessibility, instructional design and delivery practices, as well as College quality standards and policies related to design, development, and instructional delivery mode.
- Collaborate with learning leaders and faculty to build trust and mutual respect that enables success for each other while making students our top priority.
- Create, coordinate, and facilitate regular faculty communication through multiple communication channels such as blogging, newsletters, strong web presence, and social media.
- Recommend integration of existing and emerging instructional technologies or methods to enhance student engagement, success, and persistence.
- Seek input from multiple individuals and departments each semester to strategically plan Teaching and Learning Center activities. Assist in resource planning and course creation through the Learning Management System.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum /Instruction, or related area with a major emphasis in faculty/staff development/training, curriculum development, instructional technology/design or similar content area Required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, to include professional experience focused on diversity, equity, and inclusive practice.
Preferred: Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the technical college system/higher education/faculty development/instructional design.
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Cultural Competence: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and sensitivity to and understanding of a diverse community of college students, faculty, and staff.
