Photographer
Job Description
The photographer reports to the Senior Creative Director of marketing and communications and provides multimedia support for university initiatives, including recruitment, retention, revenue and reputation. Imagery will be used in digital publications, communications and other channels internally and externally, including on the university website, portal and social media platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create original digital content to achieve university mission and advance the strategic plan
- Make recommendations on content strategies to support programs and priorities and collaborates with colleagues to achieve stated goals
- Schedule and provide multimedia services, either in-studio or on-location for university clients
- Identify and execute on emerging trends in multimedia
- Help to build and maintain a library of imagery
- Serve in the role of storyteller for multimedia content that elevates the university’s profile and promotes programming
- Work on projects from idea inception and tactical organization to post-production editing and distribution
- Provide digital assets in multiple formats
- Transition smoothly between multimedia platforms
- Embrace new technology and assists with equipment selection and maintenance
- Contribute to a campus that encourages diversity and inclusion
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Some weekend and evening work required; some travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications
- Three to five years of professional photography experience
- Experience managing/scheduling assignments
- Familiarity with photography equipment (Sony, Canon, etc.)
- Proficient in digital imaging software
- Creative, flexible and people-oriented
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Able to meet tight deadlines, execute multiple projects concurrently and work independently as well as a member of a team
