Seaside Palm Beach, a proud addition to Banyan Treatment Centers, is recruiting for a part-time Physician/ Psychiatrist to join our Executive treatment team in Palm Beach Shores, Florida!
This position would interact with the Medical Director and treatment team by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care.
Schedule Available:
- Part-Time; scheduled days to be further discussed with Supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
- Evaluating the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
- Knowledge of program policies and procedures.
- Shares pertinent information with team as obtained from patients or family throughout the program.
- Attends staff meetings, as needed.
- Assists in formulating standards for patient policies and procedures.
- Promotes good public relations between program and medical department.
- Works in collaboration with the Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director on significant patient developments.
- Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
- Abides by safety/risk, infection control, and other guidelines as required.
- Providing primary care and Medical / Psychiatric Treatment.
- Evaluate behavioral problems and diagnosis, and make treatment decisions, in collaboration with medical team.
- Ordering consults for other medical specialties as needed.
- Providing Utilization Review with the detailed information needed for the appropriate level of care of the patient.
- Ensuring continuity of care through the use of foresight in directing, controlling, planning and organizing patient care.
- Communicating with family and health professionals concerning the care of patients.
- Assists in reporting infection control incidents to Performance Team and Risk Management.
- Address all and any concerns related with the patient to the treatment team.
- Ensure that the safety of the client is our priority at all times.
- Ensure that any client that is in need of urgent psychiatric care abides by state requirements (if applicable) and that the client is placed in an appropriate facility for such care.
- Continue to attend regularly scheduled education classes related to the disease of addiction.
- Assists in ensuring State and Federal regulations, and JACHO standards are met and maintained.
- Maintains regular contact with all clinical staff and update them on patient progress and other issues.
- Respects the clinical philosophy and encourages the patients to follow the recommendations.
- Abides by the state provisions regarding the confidentiality of alcohol and drug treatment records and all other applicable federal and state laws.
- Demonstrates ability to work with Substance Abuse clients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum five years of Medical and /or Psych experience as MD or Psychiatrist.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical School with a Doctorate which includes clinical training in a health care specialty area.
- Licensed to practice Medicine or Psychiatry in the State employed. Maintains current licensure per state requirements. Must maintain a valid DEA license in the State of Florida.
- Must have a Doctorate from an accredited university or college.
Abilities/Competencies:
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
- Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
- Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
- Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
- Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
- Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.
- Knowledge of nursing care for the dual-diagnosed patient.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Substance Abuse experience.
