The role:

The Pricing Analyst is a critical role within the Business Intelligence & Analytics team, reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence. This role will support our Merchandising department through in-depth analysis of our merchandise assortments and pricing strategies. Success in this role is measured by our price competitiveness, pricing automation, and pricing & margin error rates. You must love testing price strategies, assessing product benchmarks, and measuring price elasticity across our product catalog. To be successful, you should be analytical with business acumen, and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

What you'll do:

• Support merchandising organization through analysis of merchandise, pricing & inventory performance
• Prepare and analyze business metrics including merchandise sales mix, sales mix, productivity, merchandise margin contribution
• Partner with Merchandising team and Buying team to plan & analyze product & category performance
• Develop and ensure implementation of strategic pricing strategy by building tools to simulate, optimize and set prices
• Collaborate with Merchants and others to ensure tools work for them to hit their strategies, allowing them to implement tests, drive effective price promotions, and deliver their P&L
• Use analytics to disaggregate and translate complex business issues into actionable changes in our processes, inputs or tools
• Partner with product, engineering, and data science teams on the major requirements, logic, and guardrails that need to be deployed to ensure our customers and our Merchants trust and love our prices

What you'll bring:

• Excellent statistical analytical skills with solid strategic thinking
• Business-oriented with the ability to identify opportunities and recommend execution plans
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
• Expert knowledge of business & financial performance metrics
• Strong experience with SQL, looker and/or analytics platforms or related tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
• You have at least 3+ years of experience in pricing & merchandising analytics
• You have experience working cross-functionally and seeking solutions as a team
• You seek impact and outcome, drive innovation, and apply best practices
• Bachelor's degree preferred in either economics, mathematics or engineering/finance discipline
