Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking a Receptionist.
Scope:
This position will provide general support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks for Skyland Trail operations. The Receptionist will be responsible for answering phone incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting guests of the Dorothy C. Fuqua Center, mail distribution as well as additional clerical duties. This position will serve as a security presence for Skyland Trail and therefore have a working knowledge of security and safety protocols at all campuses and of confidentiality policies.
Duties:
- Professionally answer incoming calls to the main number and route as appropriate.
- Greet visitors in a professional and friendly manner and notify appropriate staff of their arrival.
- Ensure that all guests sign the confidentiality form upon arrival and are issued appropriate visitor identification.
- Assist Skyland Trail clients as needed and according to established protocols, including checking out clients devices
- Receive and sort the daily mail and other deliveries for distribution.
- Support the admission team, including distributing faxes for admissions
- Assigning and managing security wrist bands for clients
- Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as assigned.
- May also assist with other related clerical duties to include photocopying, faxing, filing and collating.
- Clean up and stock admissions area
- Log cash receipts
- Open and close visitor area (locking doors, turning off lights)
- Monitor surveillance cameras and other electronic security systems and either report or respond to suspicious or emergency situations according to established protocols.
- Have a working knowledge of all safety procedures, confidentiality policies, crisis communication, and emergency procedures.
- Work with relief coverage to determine appropriate times for lunch and breaks.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Reports to: Admissions Director
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Polished and professional image.
- Excellent phone etiquette and oral communication skills
- Previous experience in mental health or medical office/facility preferred
- Ability to prioritize work and to be a self-starter, as well as be able to work efficiently and effectively under limited supervision.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- An ability to effectively respond to multiple, changing and often competing priorities is essential.
- Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk is required.
- Manual dexterity, visual acuity and effective hand-to-eye coordination are required.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a business office setting.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
