JOB DESCRIPTION:

General Purpose

Train, supervise and actively participate in all the food productions areas of the kitchen, in order to maintain our high standards of quality.

Essential Duties

  • Assume leadership role in the kitchen in the Executive Chefs absence.
  • Coordinate, plan, and supervise production, preparation, and presentation for dishes at the restaurant
  • Ensures the food quality and selection consistently meets Reikart House and Jazzboline Restaurant Standars
  • Maintains safety and sanitary standards
  • Recommends and implements procedural and production changes.
  • Monitors food and labor costs.
  • Train new ambassadors in all procedures

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred or 4 years related industry experience

Requirements

  • 2 years leadership experience in similar role
  • 4 years line cook/culinary experience
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Prior experience in high volume food production
  • Basic knife skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Basic food safety knowledge
  • Ability to take direction

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time including bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching
  • Able to lift 30lbs or more
  • Ability to move rapidly in a hot environment
  • Hazards include cuts from broken glass, hot kitchen tools, metal cans, slipping and tripping.'
