ORR CLINICIAN

(BILINGUAL SPANISH REQUIRED)

JOB SUMMARY/ROLE:

The Rancho San Antonio (RSA) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Therapist (Clinician) is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, providing ongoing individual and group counseling services, screening for human trafficking concerns, and providing crisis intervention services to Unaccompanied Children (UC). The clinician demonstrates knowledge of trauma informed care and infuses RSA adopted trauma informed framework, Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) in their daily interactions with staff and UC.

SCHEDULE:Full-time 40 hours/week, some evening and weekend availability may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Arts/Science (M.A./M.S.) Degree in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Counseling.

Active, current, and clear registration/license with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Associate Marriage and Family Therapist-AMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Associate Social Worker (ASW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and/or California Board of Psychology for Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.) or Counseling Psychologist (Psy.D.).

Bi-lingual/Bi-literate in Spanish required.

4. Knowledge and training in Evidenced-based Practices (EBP) preferred.

5. Knowledge of electronic health record (Exym preferred).

6. Demonstrates professional and effective communication abilities, including the

completion of written reports, letters, and plans, initiating verbal communications with Unaccompanied Children (UC), appropriate sponsors, and inter and intra-agency personnel, and exhibits an ongoing ability to engage formal and informal supports on behalf of UC.

7. Possess the relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with UC and/or children with special needs including trauma histories.

8. Availability to be on-call for crisis related services may be required.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Learn and utilize trauma-informed framework Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) in interactions and overall service delivery to UC.

2. Conduct mental health assessments.

3. Provide ongoing individual and group counseling services.

4. Screen for human trafficking concerns.

5. Provide crisis intervention services.

6. Documentation of all services provided in accordance with RSA policies and procedures and ORR contract guidelines.

7. Attend and participate in all agency required trainings and meetings.

8. Participate in multidisciplinary teaming for the care and coordination of services provided to UC.

9. Other allied duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

All hired staff must (at the minimum) meet the following requirements:

1. Aged at least 21 years

2. Valid California Driver’s License must be cleared by DMV record check, and proof of

auto insurance required.

3. Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g., Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional reference checks, physical examination with TB test, vaccinations (or authorized exemptions), and drug screening.

4. Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with UC:

· Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.

· MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases

· DTaP or DTap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.

· Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

· COVID-19: Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech; or 2two doses of Moderna; or one dose of Janssen), with appropriate boosters if they become necessary. An individual is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their final dose. Additional dose(s): a third vaccine dose for certain groups of people, or booster dose(s) as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Must have the visual, physical, and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office

equipment including the use of a computer. All agency employees, regardless of position, serve

as role models for clients, staff, and members of the community. Therefore, each employee must

always be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults

who may have mental or behavioral health problems. They must be able to demonstrate,

appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling. Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expressions are

not acceptable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing this job, the incumbent must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 40 pounds). Will also require bending, stooping, filing, frequent sitting, twisting, typing, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional traveling, driving, walking, standing, grasping, pulling, pushing, and reaching.
