Job Description


We’re looking for an exceptional VP, Strategy to be a strategic leader for clients, as well as internal Media Planning, Analytics, Insights, Technology and Channel teams at dentsu. They will bring to the table a strong point of view and critical thinking across insights, cultural & societal shifts, media trends, creative influences, and business dynamics to build innovative, informed recommendations for communications and performance strategy as well as media executions.

This job is perfect for someone who is addicted to data, mentorship, multi-channel, thought leadership, and owning client relationships.

A strong command of Audience Insights and Media will be essential in developing insights that enable outcome-led planning. A strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and syndicated tools will be beneficial.

We need someone who is a talented strategy trailblazer with a proven track record of best-in-class communications and performance media strategy, who excels at cross-team collaboration and who is capable of creating positive, meaningful change.

STORYTELLIING

  • Creates winning presentation styles or techniques that are recognized and replicable
  • Presents to C-suite and achieve high-stake outcomes
  • Develops strategic thinking that changes the way a client not only thinks about their business, but acts as a result

COUNSEL

  • Be a visible part of shaping the team culture
  • Establishes a career partnership with assigned client that transcends roles and accelerates our mutual success
  • Lead communications and performance strategy for assigned client, ensuring services are meeting expectation, delivering on business goals, and are cutting edge and industry-leading
  • Lead and manage development and growth for all direct reports inclusive of training, regular check-ins to discuss performance & organization of team deliverables, and contributes meaningfully to everyone’s growth and wellbeing
  • Develop and present thought leadership that inspires action

CONNECTING THE DOTS

  • Collaborate with cross-functional dentsu teams, balancing the needs of the client with the needs of the team/agency to ensure a “one team” mentality
  • Lead development of a data-empowered strategy across integrated teams that informs a testing roadmap across messaging, creative, audience, frequency and channel mix
  • Be the strategy advocate; vet recommendations from teams (media, creative, technology), ensuring they are holistic in nature and on strategy and deliver award winning tactical ideas (e.g. platform innovation, performance drivers, partner with innovative technology)
  • Develops an insight or framework that becomes fundamental to a clients' business or view on marketing
  • Originates and scales methods for mapping out how strategy can influence a client’s business outside of just marketing
  • Make new things happen in bigger and broader opportunities to deliver new solutions by leading the leads from other disciplines, i.e. Search, Social, analytics, tech, etc.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in Media, Performance and/or Communications Strategy
  • Fluency with Creative Strategy and multiple media channels (with a skew towards digital) for communications and connections, and their role in achieving brand and performance KPIs
  • Mastery in interpreting data and research to develop meaningful insights
  • Ability to develop strong inter-disciplinary partnerships
  • Minimum of 5+ years managing/supervising a team of employees
  • Able to navigate and speak to the complexities of the media landscape across disciplines
  • Persuasive storyteller and presenter. Must be comfortable developing and delivering strategic presentations and able to think on one’s feet
  • Mastery of the entire media ecosystem, with the ability to bring forward-thinking, strategic insights on how we evolve as an agency

The anticipated base salary range for this position is 120,880 - 174,900. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company’s incentive compensation plan is subject to change.
